Viktor (Arcane: League of Legends Season 1) Photo Gallery

Character: Viktor
Media: "Arcane: League of Legends"
Completion Date: April 2025

Viktor's late season 1 design has a steampunk technological look to it that I created first by piecing together carefully-dyed fabric in different shades of gray and white, then layering grosgrain with a vintage metal braided trim. I wanted the latter to look like a steampunk-inspired circuit board. All of the Arcane costume designs are just on the other side of the line of "conventional" fashion: a strange fastening here, oddly specific buttons there, a seam that must exist but has been made to appear as though it doesn't. I used some vintage buttons and fastenings from my collection to help give it that classic-yet-futuristic finish, and I also hand-stitched the trim down the shirt sleeve shoulders and to the cuffs so there would be no interruption over the armscye seam. This cosplay was my first time using EVA foam, which layers on tip of PVC piping to form the base of Viktor's crutch-cane. The prop breaks into three pieces for easy travel.

Firesong K'Treva Photo Gallery: NYCC 2024 Cosplay Central Crown Championship Version

Character: Firesong K'Treva
Media: "Darian's Tale" and "Kelvren's Saga" from the "Valdemar" novels by Mercedes Lackey and Larry Dixon
Completion Date: October 2024
Awards: First Place overall, New York Comic Con 2024

I started making this cosplay in early 2023 with no solid competition plans, but as I developed the skills and the design and the project came together to be more special than anything I had made previously, I wanted to try my hand at Crown and see how far I could get. At that point, I pivoted to making this the most it could be. Firesong himself is a character that means a lot to me as someone who survived so much personal pain and came through the other side, and also as an openly gay character. The version presented at New York Comic Con lacked a few costume pieces that I did not have time to make, as well as an early simplified version of the mask with braided hair "falls".
