Kijin Ko Photo Gallery

Kijin Ko was meant to be a quick cosplay because Joann's had this amazing yellow brocade and I wanted to use it for something.  Kijin was that opportunity because of his yellow garments.

Now I'm going to be the first to admit that I know very little about Chinese or Korean garments.  Saiunkoku Monogatari's clothing seems to be a combination of Asian styles, but I only really know about the Japanese influences.  My Kijin cosplay was patterned based on my knowledge of kimono.

The only really magnificent part of this cosplay, I think, is the mask.  It is made of paper clay and painted with watercolors.  Yes, watercolors.  I didn't want anything too opaque.  The ties were handmade using kumihimo techniques.  I really like how those turned out.

This cosplay has never debuted and never had a formal photoshoot.  What I have here was a quick set of photos my mother helped me take.  There was no time for more, and I cannot remember exactly why.  But that is that.  Later on I do hope to take more.
